"My dog will never sit still for a photo"
This is the main reason I hear people give
for not trying professional dog photography
Meet Max, a 14-week old Kelpie puppy. He is an absolute ball of energy and was amazing in the studio.
A photo session indoors or outdoors is not about "sitting still". It's about letting your dog be itself, and treats, don't forget the treats.
Also, don't forget I'm catching those shots at high speed.
It's a new environment and there are some interesting smells, so I give your gorgeous dog (or dogs) time to check it out and settle in. We also take breaks when needed and have some outdoor time too. The session should be fun.
It's an air bed and very comfortable. Some dogs never want to leave, especially if there is an extra fluffy rug and a few treats.
And, if we want to achieve a certain pose then I briefly use the lead and it can be removed when I'm editing. There times when this will settle the canine star and just give me the second or two to obtain that special shot.
Plus, there are comfy rugs, cushions, and a bed! Even dogs who are not allowed on the bed at home seem to take a secret delight in testing the studio bed.
You are there too - the most important person in their life. Plus, I hope you will be my assistant. Your dog will listen to you and be more settled with you nearby. You may like to feature in a photo or two. I bet you don't have many photos of you and your fur baby so now is the time.
